What is Microdermal needling?

Microdermal needling is the popular treatment to enhance long lasting facial rejuvenation. This treatment helps to tighten up the skin reducing the appearance of those stubborn fine lines.
Microdermal needling induces micro trauma to the face and décolletage resulting in a healing process that increases the collagen and elastin stores to the dermis of the skin. The effect is tighter, firmer looking skin. Microdermal needling can help improve the appearance of large pores, hyper-pigmented areas, acne scarring and fine lines and wrinkles.
As the microdermal needling is being performed some serums will be needled into the epidermis to nourish the skin.

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling, the latest technology when it comes to dermal needling for anti-aging skin treatments. Very similar to microneedling or collagen education therapy, RF microneedling uses the microneedles AND radiofrequency waves to stimulate collagen and elastin growth.

What is the difference between Microneedling and Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling?

MICRONEEDLING uses multiple tiny needles to create micro trauma to the very superficial layer of the skin, initiating a healing process which will improve mild textural issues such as fine lines and wrinkles and superficial scars as acne scars.

RADIOFREQUENCY (RF) MICRONEEDLING also uses multiple tiny needles to simultaneously deliver radiofrequency energy deeper into the dermis. The addition to the benefits of standard microneedling the heat from the radiofrequency enhances skin tightening and general skin laxity.

How often should I have treatment?

Many clients will have up to 4 treatments spaced out monthly or bimonthly to achieve a long lasting effect. You will see a gradual improvement to you the texture and quality of your skin. You can space a microdermal needling treatment so that it can be done between a Botox and or a filler treatment to achieve that full face rejuvenation.

Does it hurt?

You may feel a gentle build up of heat as the procedure is being preformed. You should experience only mild discomfort. Topical local anaesthetic can be applied prior to treatment if necessary. After the needling has been done you will be placed under the LED face mask to calm down the inflammation and redness caused by the micro-dermal needling.

What are the side effect of a microdermal needling treatment?

You can expect redness and swelling immediately after treatment. The LED red light mask increases the blood flow to the surface of the skin which will help reduce the swelling. This will last for approximately 24 hours. Your skin may feel tight, you will be given some creams to take home, to apply morning and evening for the first 48 hours. You can expect you skin to become dry and peel approximately 3-57 days after treatment. The area may feel itchy around day 5-7, you will be given a soothing facemask to help with this.

What should I do or not do after a microdermal needling treatment?

Avoid touching the areas immediately after treatment and gently cleanse you face the morning after treatment.
A good light weight SPF sunscreen is essential to use regularly after treatment. It is very important that you do not expose the area being treated to UV light whilst having treatment. You may apply makeup and resume using your routine skin care range on day 3. Keeping the skin clean and trying not to touch the area is important to reduce potential infection.

How long does it take?
