What is Cryopen Mole or Skin Tag Removal?
Cryopen is a safe, easy and quick solution to remove skin tags, moles, and a variety of other skin lesions. Most spots on the skin are harmless but you should always get them checked out by your GP first to make sure that those lesions are not cancerous.
The advantage of the Cryopen is that it is a simple and relatively pain free approach to mole and skin tag removal. The procedure is sometimes known as cryosurgery or cryotherapy and at Simply Skin Appearance Medicine we use the Cryopen to deliver a precise, powerful jet of nitrous oxide onto each skin imperfection, freezing the cells within the lesion but not the healthy skin cells around them. The lesion will then crust over as the areas heals and fall off within 7 – 10 days, in the same way as a scab naturally does.
The difference between Cryopen and liquid nitrogen, offered at most GP surgeries, is the high precision applicator. The Cryopen has excellent accuracy, removing the lesion and not the skin around it. It also does not come into contact with the skin, making it a safe and effective option to use on the face and even near the eyes, especially for very small skin lesions.
